rmaidment
I always hear that it is important to have a large hands to close the #3 or #4 gripper. Almost all of the men who are certified captain's of crush are quite tall.
Slider454
Tommy Heslep competes in the small hands division in cometitions and he is certified on the #4 I have a full 8 inch hand and I am in the large hand division so Tommys hands are smaller than that...just shows that you dont have to have huge hands to close huge grippers just a lot of work and and Time...Tommy is a great guy PM him and he will prolly give you tips on what you need to be doing. Scott Styles
If you set the gripper well, hand size doesn't mean much. You get to a credit card set like with the current IM cert rules, a bigger hand helps. You can still close the #3, but it's going to take more work. royceman
I asked this question a while back ( I was concerned that I could not get the ironmind cert ), turns out Temu I has almost the exact same size hands I do and he no set closes the 3 and if I remember right he set the Norwegian record for the RT. a side note is that all of his posts are very positive, and his attitude is whatever it takes to accomplish the task that is what he will do. Hand size gives you an advantage, but it is your will ( or my will for that matter) that will determine wether we close the 3 or not. jad
handsize doesn't matter, you just have to get stronger
El Crab Hands
you can make it a big deal, or not make it a big deal, hand size wont hold you back as long as you dont have 4" hands and are not commited to getting stronger...
Wes
Big hands help with Ns'ing... But they arent that important otherwise.

pdoire
This is very simple. If you can set and close a Trainer than you can set and close any gripper of a similar spread if your hands get strong enough. This includes MM set, CCS and TNS. 1stCoC
Exactly right Paul. All the IM grippers ARE the same size handle width and shape so, if you can no set a trainer,#1 or whatever.. all it REALLY takes is enough strength to keep going on to the #3. It IS a strength issue pure and simple.RS
Scott Styles
Here's a good thread along those lines: http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=18105&st=80 I believe any healthy male can get to a #3 close with a parallel set. Some will have to work much longer and harder than others. I think when you get into credit card set at that level or above, larger hands or a talent for strength is needed. Look at the number of guys you find with a 7" hand no-setting the #3. Not many.

I agree if you were trying to MMS it then there is really no reason for it, but to No Set a #3 with my hand size almost impossible
