BIKERICH
I remember when i was 8 there was a feat that seemed so easy but could never be done.it was to hold an egg in your hand and squeeze and try to crush it without pushing your finger tips into the egg.due to the physics of an egg it cannot be done?i have not tried in awhile.i think this is one of the most deceptive requests of crush and probably one of the oldest.can you think of any others? Slider454
if you can close the #3 with a parallel set then this feat doesnt hold water anymore...my brother and my cuz both who work out daily still cant do it but I can...its still tough and is very amazing that it takes that much pressure to crush the egg....just watch it when you do cuz it will shoot egg yolk everywhere! viper
whats hard, is to crush an egg long ways with a finger on one end an a thumb on the other
Wayne
hold it long ways and break it with your index and thumb, thats hard. anyone who can do that is strong! the way you desribed is not really that hard. maybe you should give it another try, you were only 8. BIKERICH
if you take the egg in your hand with it lying across your palm and squeeze your hand around it,it should not break.also if you put one end against your palm and the other end against the other palm and press both palms inwards it should not break.i guess i gotta try and see what happens.its been awhile.have to get an egg. BIKERICH
If you google squeezing an egg without breaking it the sites say it wont break.i cant supply a link due to accessing this forum with a cellphone.if EVEN pressure is applied due to the eggs' 3D keystone design it should not break.if there is a hairline crack it will break or he pressure is not applied evenly. BIKERICH
It just broke! I think you are doing something wrong. I have not tried in over30 years. i will go buy some eggs and try.
philthy
The whole idea of not being able to crush an egg is because it is filled with fluid...fluid is basically uncompressible so if the pressure was on all sides of the egg equally it wont break but hands don’t equal pressure to all sides. The idea that you can’t crush an egg with your hand is based on 2 things, people who say that are weak, and the previous statement... If you told those same people that nobody could crush a potato with their hands they would definitely believe you too, however as we know some people definitely can... bender
I tried this a few years back when I was at my gripper peak, before certifying, and I squeezed the life out of an egg. It does break, but it’s because the pressure is not even, and you end up putting a finger through the shell. If you use the finger tips, it takes minimal pressure to break. If you do try it, just remember to use as even a pressure as you can. If you use raw eggs, go out side. I did it with what turned out to be an under-done hard boiled egg, and the semi-solid white flew a considerable distance. I would like to see some one break an egg with the pinch technique, the long way. I’ve tried with two hands, and was far from breaking it. With even pressure, I’m not sure it can be done. It isn't to do with it being filled with fluid at all?? For starters it isn't 'full' and also that's like saying you couldn't crush a chocolate egg if it was filled with water. i've gotta try this egg thing. One of my friends told me about it ages ago and said he couldn't do it and neither could his cousin... i laughed at his weakness but never tired it myself as i forgot. My other friend tried it and said it was pretty easy but harder than you would expect if you hadn't been forewarned. ... i think he might have been closing the number two at that point... definitely the number one. bunchofbananas
I just tried it now and found it very easy.. i didn't use fingertips or anything, i just crushed it like i would a gripper (drove palm heel into it) It exploded over a large radius so be warned. I think anyone who can close a trainer could crush and egg.

BIKERICH
you cannot put your palm heal into the egg.one way is to wrap your hand and fingers around the egg and apply equal force.the same as if you press end to end with your palms and interlace your fingers.physics of the egg will make it difficult to break.due to different people applying unequal force the eggs are breaking.i still gotta buy eggs and try it. I did put equal pressure on it... hence it exploded with almost a spherical explosion, The palm heel is larger than the egg and forms around the egg so using this method there was no way i could cheat it.... I didn't try it the long way though. I might get that but maybe not TNS, i'll try MMS .... i can't believe we're debating how to crush an egg. only at the gripboard ay? lol
