how wide is the three supposed to be. mine is three inches apart. from the inside of the handles. and my number two is like two and little of three quarters. they seem hard to me. is that the norm for three and two. and i can get my three to about an inch from closing it. and yet i can only do couple reps on my two.

My #2 is 2 13/16 and #3 is 2 15/16. i can rep the #2 4X and #3 i can get 1 in. apart and gaining ground? i think #2 optimally s/b 2 3/4 and #3 s/b 3 in. but obviously its a gripper and not a NASA Space instrument :tongue

Remember the final inch in closing a gripper is a mile. I remember when I first got the #2 and #3 last year, I thought it was weird that I could get my #2 about an inch from closed and my #3 about 1/3 closed (it moved an inch). Now I see that small distances are a whole lot.

My #3 was 3 1/8 when I got it....harder than my BBE....now it seasoned down to a shade over 2 3/4 ...I can get it down to within 1/8" with my right hand.....I would probably guess that it's a fairly average gripper....
