steelbiceps Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 I should have tried a g8 sooner, 'cause this thing melted in my hands. I'd been playing around with g5s with only IM pads, and when I put leather back on my hands just didn't feel the hurt and the g8 felt as easy as a g5. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?act=mod...si&img=4645 I'll have to hit some shorter g8's soon. steelbiceps Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Couldn't find my bolt cutters to cut one down, but just bent another almost as fast. If you look closely you can see they're different brands, too. I wanted to ensure I didn't just happen upon an easy one. http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?act=mod...si&img=4646 Okay, now I feel like I own these things. Next workout I'll have to find another challenge. Quote Real name: Stan Hunter
jaccord Posted July 22, 2006 Posted July 22, 2006 Great bends! Did you warm up by bending any G5s? How many G5s could you bend in a workout before you decided to give a G8 a try? I've not yet tried a G8, and have been alternating between being able to take down a G5 pretty easily, to having it take everything I've got just to get one. Just curious. Keep it up. Josh Quote

steelbiceps Posted July 22, 2006 Author Posted July 22, 2006 Thanks a lot guys! Josh, on this day my warmup was one g5 with IM pads. I don't know how many g5s I could bend in a workout, but a lot. My wallet would cry uncle before my wrists. What do you think is causing your variability on the g5s? Fatigue? Form? Bolt variation? Quote Real name: Stan Hunter
jaccord Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Hey Stan. Not sure what causes the inconsistancy in the G5s I was bending. (I bought them all at the same time, so I guess they were from the same 'batch') I bend every 7 or 8 days which I feel is adequate rest inbetween sessions. I bent my first G5 3 weeks ago and it took everything I had. 2 weeks ago I crushed 3 of them in a row easily. Last week it took everything to just get one. Then today I got 3 of them again, the 3rd one being very difficult. I also tried a G8. I only got it about 5 degrees. I asked you about your G5 bending ability to see if I was in a similar boat as you, but I'm obviously not. I have a lot of respect for you guys who can crush the G8 and beyond! Josh Quote

Everyone has good days and bad days, but after you first bent a g5 you haven't had a single day when you couldn't get at least one. Just keep playing with them. By the time you've worked through a couple dozen you'll be able to bend one whenever you feel like it and you'll know you're ready for a g8. In fact, I bet on your bending day next week you'll be able to do 5 or more g5s. Prove me right. Quote Real name: Stan Hunter
EricMilfeld Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Congratulations, Stan! Your progress is really gonna start snowballing now! Quote
