Two Different Styles

What's the best way to do the bending workouts when you are working on more than one style? Do it all in one session? Separately? DU is still my main style, but I really am trying to learn DO. Just curious. Is there anybody else regularly training with more than one style? How do you do it?

Thanks,

Justin

My last few workouts have been with DO and DU and even switching between leather and the Ironmind blue pads.

I do my strong style first and then put my weaker style last in the workout. I don't see any problem with that. Some might say to put the weaker one first, but I think that being slightly fatigued won't really hurt and might actually help you hone your technique on the weaker style because your body will have to figure out the most efficient way to bend if you're slightly tired already.

I bend DO first and then when I'm either done or really fatigued I'll switch to DU. They don't feel the same to me so when I'm done on one I usually have quite a bit left in another style after a short rest.

Justin,

I like Ben will bend my dominate style first and then for myself I will bend DU so I can stay some what current in that style. For me it is just a way to maintain. I am not currently trying to get PRs out of my DU style but rather just trying not to loose a lot of what I had.

I agree with Ben's idea about focusing on the style you are weak at when you are tired. When I am tired only good form will get me through; plus it is a great way to walk your self through a style. Making sure all your mechanics are in order: bar under the chin, end of the nail where I feel I get the most out of it, hands tight, wrists flexed and ready...you get the idea.

What can you guys bend with your dominant style vs. other styles?

Justin

Currently:

DO 5.5"X5/16" FBBC or 5.75"X5/16" FBBC Hex

DU 6"X1/4" Grade 8 bolt

Tommy H. Style 60d nail

Reverse 6"X1/4" Grade 8

Bold is dominate style

Theres a video of it somewhere on the board. He bends a 60d and I think a grade 8 with his arms straight out in front of him overhand. He made the 60d look like a piece of coathanger.

Do you know where the video is? I can't find it. I don't even know his user name, otherwise I would try to search for it.

Thanks,

Justin

Wish I could bend DU and DO, but I got major problems with it. My reverse bending is kinda hard on my wrists (well well, it's pay me back some day I guess)

I've bent a 5 and 7/8" Grade 8 DO. And a 6" Grade 8 DU. So I'm about the same level with both still.
