Tired A 60d

I went to a local mom and pop hardware store to search for 60d nails. I found a set of some for a good price 10/$1.29 and went ahead and bought 10. I knew these looked like they were a little bigger than the 1/4" CRS that I had been bending before, so I got the Mic out and measured it. They came in at exactly 1/64" (17/64") bigger than the 1/4". Is this typical or did I get some nails that are actually a little bit bigger than standard? Here is a pic.

Nail

I went ahead and rolled it up to try after I killed a couple 60d TT. The nail felt pretty much like a brick. I kinked it just slightly. I thought that maybe I had just gotten lucky the other day with the 1/4"x6" CRS, so I rolled up another piece of CRS and killed it in less than 10 sec. I guess I was just pissed off that I couldn't bend the nail. I went ahead and bent some more TT to end the workout. I could tell after the fight with the nail that I need to get some sledge work in for my wrists and hold back a little bit. Here is a pic of the little kink..

Slight kink

My question is...how strong was this nail? I figured that it was probably ~300-310, but I am not sure how much the extra 1/64" affected the strength. Anyway I thought I had found some nails to bend for volume but I was wrong....at least for now. I plan on bending it within the next week. :D

60ds are all a little bigger than 1/4. That nail looks like an ave or slightly harder than ave 60d (course its hard to tell just by looks). That's actually a pretty solid kink, I think you'll be getting these soon. When you can get 4 in a row or so you should be able to get a G5 - unless thats a super hard 60d.

I plan on getting a G5 soon. Thanks for the info...I was just making sure. I just thought that since I was melting the Ironmind Blue so easy that the 60d would go down also. I'll hit it again on Tuesday and see what I can do. :D

Your off to a great start having the strength to kink 60ds :rock

Go and buy yourself a load of different 60ds(much cheaper than g5s)and start bending them if you can only kink them, move them on a little in a vise or with pipes and then finish them, each time trying less of a help with the bars or vise then eventually you will be doing thewm easy.

Thanks Gazza. I will look around for more nails...they seem to be pretty hard to find in my town. Only the little mom and pop stores usually have them.

Save up some money and order yourself a beginners benders bag from FBBC.

Well I am having some problems with this nail for sure. I couldn't even move one today. I kept bending it (using a vise) until I could bend it on my own. That ended up being after it was passed 90 degrees, so basically I just did a crush down on it. I am going to get some more 1/4" CRS and play around with it some more. I need something in between the nails that I am using and the Ironmind Blue.
