I posted this in the FAQ area but thought maybe i should put it here as well as more people use this section :)

Hey guys im starting grip training this week for the first time. I've been lifting for about a year and abit but havent done grip training previously, i recently got my #1 and #2 CoC, i can close #1 totally for 6 reps or so however cant close the #2 yet :) my first goal is to get her closed.

Anyway back on topic, was just wondering if there are any sites that list all the different exercises that you can do to work your grip strength (preferably with pictures to as im pretty clueless at the moment apart from plate curls (normal and wrist), pinch holds and just doing normal or forced reps on a CoC).

Any help would be great and a hello to everyone here :)

Welcome! One good place to look is www.dieselcrew.com. Those guys are really into grip strength and they have videos and some really good articles on grip on their website. They are big contributors to this site. Also, you probably should get "Mastery of Hand Strength" and "The Gripmaster's Manual." Both of these books are by John Brookfield and will tell you everything you need to know to get started. These books are available on any book website (Amazon/Borders, ect.)... Good luck.

There are many good threads here that have a variety of workouts and methodolgies contained in them. In the grip routines section there are some good programs listed that should help you on your way!!

Best of Luck and feel free to ask any questions at all!!

Ive got those 2 books. they are very informative and John Brookfield writes as if you are sitting with him at the bar having a beer which makes for very easy reading.

I wrote this a few years back:

Grip Nation

There are many ideas, concepts and exercises that should be added to the article - since then, but this will give you a place to start.
