staigl
Kelby, That looks like a great workout. Thanks for introducing it on the Gripboard. Its unfortunate several of us appeared skeptical initially. Personally, I'm relatively new to strength-training. I had trouble visualizing a 60 pound sledgehammer, not to mention training with such a beast. If any of my remarks made you feel defensive, I apologize. Was that your son in the clip? Has he started pounding tires yet? Thanks again for the video. That's really cool! You need some big truck tires, so they don't move on you.

kelby
i am 5 feet six and about 190-200. my back and got bigger from the sledge hammer, i dropped about twenty pounds, i like grappling. and i find i cant move as fast when i was heavier. that is why i got into sledge hammer training, i knew it would help me better then free weights. Do you train mainly with your heaviest hammers, or do you do cycles with lighter ones for speed? Kind of like how Westside powerlifters have max effort day and dynamic effort day. Number Ten Ox
Just started swinging my levering sledge. Never thought I would actually use it outside... It's only 18# but I did ten reps on each side for like 5 minutes and I am way tired. (I did paddle a kayak for two hours today but STILL! I shouldn't be THIS tired...) My lower lats are truly worked. Great workout I recommend everyone try it. I am looking into making a heavy sledge.
