Emsquared
I have not posted here much in a long time. I am still focusing on strongman, and paying bills lol. I try even now and again with grip stuff, and even though I have not trained my specific grip in a long time I can still, fairly easily close a #3, pinch 5 tens both hands, almost back to picking the Blob up can pretty much do a 45lber all the time. I can still lift the Inch both hands using my pinky of the other hand to stop the rotation of the bell. My 2 hand plate pinching is still close to 190lbs. Not sure if these are decent lifts anymore since I have been out of the grip circuit for a while. Any thoughts or comments?? M2

bencrush
Very nice to see you're still around man! Those lifts are all very good still! Very impressive with no specific training. You should get back on the grip bandwagon. We'll slow down and let you on again.
gazza
Matt Nice to have you back whats the minnessotta gang been up to lately.
Emsquared
Gazza, I think the Minnesota Gang up and dissapeared lol Naw I think it just passed us all after we all accomplished the goals we set for ourselves. I know Dave O and Jeff P are concentrating on Strongman, as far as the others I don't know. Maybe I will get back into it who knows M2
FrankyBoy
Good you're back Matt. Any plans to take your revenge on the MM1 ?

Rick Walker
Naw I think it just passed us all after we all accomplished the goalswe set for ourselves. Matt- I have felt the exact same way for the better part of a year now. Just cannot seem to get any motivation at all to do any kind of grip work. -Rick
JasonL
No Motivation Go lock yourself in a room and watch all Diesel Crew Video's, that should work nicley. Strength is a duty, weakness is a crime..
Rick Walker
Nah, that does nothing for me. I guess I have come to a point where I realize I would rather be strong body wise then strong hand wise, and for some reason I have yet to find a way to train both body and hands with super intensity without one or the other burning out. There were things I wanted to do: lift the blob, close the #3, cert on the MM1, pinch 3-25s, eagle loop 750, etc. Once I did those things, I felt like I had done what I had set out to do and there was really no need to keep doing it. I can still close a #3 with a set, I can still pinch fairly well and thick bar fairly well. I have no need to 2-hand pinch 200+ or close any heavier grippers. -Rick

In time, all strength will come around.
Emsquared
I am not sure that I will go for the MM1, I am satisfied with the grippers I have closed and how far I have got with them. I think I will concentrate on strongman for a little while longer, and see what happens there. I don't have enough time anymore for much, with 2 jobs and what not. Time will tell M2

Rick Walker
Whats rehab? I ate 8 turkey sausages and a bag of chips yesterday-does that count? I doubt I will train towards either of these goals, but you never know. Maybe one day if the tides are right and the moon and planets are alligned. -Rick

bseedot
Only loser weaklings don't post in a long time and then come out of nowhere to post something, probably selling something. Er... wait a minute... nevermind- you're good. Of course those lifts are still good. Maybe we should incorporate a grip event in our new training sessions on Monday. Get on with some seriousness. Wanna race to DL the Inch? That'd be a good test to see how my wrists hold up and we've always had good grip battles. What say you? BC. Emsquared
Bring it!!!!!!!!!!! The Inch I don't see in the near future, maybe in 5 years M2 Bring it!!!!!!!!!!! The Inch I don't see in the near future, maybe in 5 years I am a grip looser lol, strongman looser but, at least I don't just give up and quit M2

I think I can get somewhere with it in less than 5 years. Ben, given my track record for keeping online journals, a training log from me might not be as interesting as you'd think. I'll give it a whirl though. This isn't going to be a full-on "I'm going to lift the Inch!!" training regimen, just something to get grip back into the rotation and to have something to shoot for. I've never trained for the Inch so it seems new and novel for now. I've been having a horrible time getting into a serious, consistent training protocol of any kind, really since after Nationals in 2003. So I'm hoping that having my sights on a couple of goals will help me string together some consistent training sessions. BC.
Emsquared
can do but, I think you have to learn how to hold on to a basketball first, then we will work on thick bar stuff lol M2
