oso
No store has this stuff. So i have to buy it online, anybody know the cheapest online store that sells it? Another question: everything in this world is getting so expensive. I look to buy some weights, and a 10lb Used weight (the kind you'd pinch with) costs 12 dollars. so I decided i'm going to make a homemade pinch block with a rope that can add weight. How many blocks and what dimensions should i make to work overall pinch strength?
climber511
As is often the case, it would be helpful to know where you live, at least the country, when members ask these kinds of questions. It's hard to say - "go to such and such a store" when that might be a 1000 miles or a continent away.

There is a Dick's in Jacksonville and Melborne. It isn't in the wieght section though, it was next to the softball and gymnastics stuff. climber511
Check out the climbing section - climbers use more chalk than anyone. Metolius Mountain Products sells my favorite chalk. Eco chalk isn't chalk but seems to be a drying agent - handy expecially in gyms that don't allow regular chalk - no color and no mess. http://www.metoliusclimbing.com/superchalk.htm
gerryg
I bought my chalk from IM! As always fast service! http://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmind/...asp?number=1268
AP
Yeah its tough to beat IM, you get ALOT of chalk for $10. As for pinch blocks, I like the old 2x4 with an eyehook screwed unevenly into it. You can go to Home depot and get a long 2x4 for cheap and make a single, double and a triple 2x4 thickness block (if you have over 7.5" hands the single 2x4 width might not work for you since you would likely grip around the board). If you are even cheaper than that, check out on the road on trash day and you can pick up some free pieces of wood to make blocks. You can use bricks or rocks (or dirt) for weight even if you need to! For reference, 2 45 olympic plates are about 2 1/2" thick and 3 25s are about 3 3/4" and the blob is over 5". oso
thank you everyone, My mom told me that her work partners husband has an old weight set they *might* let me have for free. besides that, i like that idea about home depot with the block of wood. Those dimensions ought to be very helpful.

They don't just cover themselves; they cover whole blackboards.
