Biggerfoot Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I finally obtained my first roundhead: http://homepage.mac.com/biggerfoot/.Pictures/roundhead1.jpg Seriously, I just picked up a 40 pound dumbbell yesterday (for free when I bought some other stuff!) and and am wondering if would be better to make a blob out of it or use it as is: http://homepage.mac.com/biggerfoot/.Pictures/roundhead2.jpg All of my other dumbbell are pro style so I can not use them. Biggerfoot Posted January 5, 2006 Author Posted January 5, 2006 I guess I should note that I was using this for snatches. I was thinking that the 17.5 may be light to bother cutting this up? I do not have any other blobs. Quote Real Name: Clay Johnson
j.scribner Posted January 5, 2006 Posted January 5, 2006 I wouldn't cut up either of those DB. You will quickly outgrow the half of the 40#, and kept intact there is a lot of different uses for it. Grab it by the end-face and see if you can pick it up. If you can, see if you can take that to the next level and press it while grabbing the face end. Try windmills, Turkish get-ups, etc. You'll get more use out of it intact than chopped. John Scribner Quote The way you train is the way you react. John Scribner Thanks...I was thinking along the same line and will not cut it up. The first one is actually an old paperweight I have had for years: http://homepage.mac.com/biggerfoot/.Pictures/roundhead3.jpg Quote Real Name: Clay Johnson
