Infinium Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 Does anyone have experience with the GINC collars? Will they fit securely over a 1 15/16" diameter sleeve? Thanks in advance. Quote
Bill Piche Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 I have several pairs of them. Not the stardard size ones though. The best collars out there hands down IMO. I would read the GINCS page closely. All the specs are given. Quote
Infinium Posted January 3, 2006 Author Posted January 3, 2006 From looking at their dumbbell and GINC pages, I know that the collars will fit olympic sleeves from 2" down to 1.95", without modification to their design. The bars I own have a diameter of 1.9375", so I am concerned whether the GINCs will fit tightly around them. The olympic collars I have fit loosely around my 1.9375" bars. I have emailed PDA about my concerns about a week ago, and still waiting for their response. Quote

You are concerned about turning the bolt an extra .0125"!? Quote

I am concerned with whether the collars will lock onto my bars once the bolts are tighten. The collars I own slide right off, if the bar is at an angle, and that's without weights. Quote
OldGuy Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 (edited) Try machine shaft collars from McMaster.com You can buy some that will fit perfectly. I have used them as dumbbell and barbell collars for almost 40 years. None has ever let me down. The are not even expensive. http://www.mcmaster.com/param/images/shaft...cecollar150.jpg http://www.mcmaster.com/param/images/shaft...setscrew150.jpg Edited January 3, 2006 by OldGuy Quote Not afraid to ruffle feathers!
