Janne Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 Are the nails laying around a construction site, competition ready? Most that I have seen are maybe 3.5 inches long. Do these compare to what you guys are bending? I grabbed a couple and put a pretty good kink in 'em, but no farther. Quote
gazza Posted December 30, 2005 Posted December 30, 2005 You need to look out for 6inch long nails these are referrred to as 60d nails. Quote "There he goes. One of gods own prototypes. FatBoy Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 (edited) Nails that short are dangerous . I used to bend nails that short until I put one threw my pads and into my plam. It hurt llike hell, and took forever to heal. Be careful, you might want to cut the tips off to make them a little safer. Oldtime Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Usualy people dont do anything shorter then 5"s. But some people like to bend shorter stuff then 5"'s. Personaly, i have a tough time bending anything under 5"s. Quote

I think the only thing that size on a contrustion site would be the aluminum gutter nails, unless it's a log home. They use 6 and 8 inch spiral nails.
