Jeremy Sipple Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 I want to get into bending. I was wondering if i should start with the ironmind bag of nails, since it is in varying degrees of difficulty or should i go to the hardware store and buy some starter nails. What type of nail is good for someone who has done minimal bending? Quote

I was wondering if i should start with the ironmind bag of nails, since it is in varying degrees of difficulty or should i go to the hardware store and buy some starter nails. What type of nail is good for someone who has done minimal bending? ← Try the Beginner's Bender's Bag at www.fatbastardbarbellco.com. It's not as snappy dealing with John Beatty as it is with the extremely speedy IronMind [He's only one man, after all.], but the value of the Bender's Bag is pretty good compared to that of the IronMind Bag-O-Nails. Besides that, he includes good equivelancies all of the IronMind nails in his stock. The learning curve for either bag is just the same, as well, the weakest nail in the Bender's Bag being the same as the IronMind white. I've tried the IronMind bag, and it's definitely a great product, but so is the Fat Bastard bag, and for a better price. Plus, you get some cool horseshoes and timber spikes to play with and wish you could bend. Good luck and happy bending from a fellow newbie! Quote

Scott Styles Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Having purchased both, the beginners bag from FBBC is much better, both because of price and variety. There are 2 types of stock between the green nail equivlant and the yellow nail equivlant. As well as 4 types of stock between the blue and red equivlants. You also get more steel. Dude Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 If you're hard up for funds you can take a trip to the hardware store and pick stuff up. Probably would start with a box of 60d Timber Ties. Check the bending section and read the progression of nails and follow that, should help a lot Quote Name:Ron 2006 Goals: Grand Bastard MM3

Just read a bunch and head to the hardware store, follow some progression and get some reps with good form and practice your technique a bunch.
