rbrown Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 for the last 5 weeks or so I have been adding in some RT and Inch work at the end of my squat workouts. Rolling thunder for the first few and then the Inch for the last couple. Tonight I tried some holds with each hand to see how likely it would be that I could take a crack at Joel's record on the double inch farmers; assuming he still has the record--haven't checked in a while. Held it in the right hand for 24 secs and with the left hand for 19 secs. I then did some reps with each hand--5 and 4 respectively I think, which is not a PR, but is very good for me after doing a hold since the Inch really frys my grip fast. I'd love to get my hands on another Inch so I can start playing around with the double pick up; have never had the chance though. This year I will be looking to find a 2nd one somewhere at a SM contest I go to or something. My rountine has basically been to work up to a max on rolling thunder each week; then drop back to a max set of 5 reps. Then some gripper work. This limited work has really worked for me lately. My training partner got the workout on vid, but I'll likely wait until next week to bother with the upload since he tapes all of our workouts and because I think next week will be better since it will be the third week of inch specific work. Just thought I'd share with some of my grip friends here. Quote

burkhardmacht Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 I watched the video of Joels Inch FW and counted the seconds: round about 13 seconds! OK, it's something different because he had two dumebells but You're on the way to be a grip legend! Dave Lemanczyk Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 This doesn't suprise me at all. You have been dominating that Inch for some time now Ryan. Congrats on consistency and effort! It is important for everyone to know (if they already don't) that Ryan is a Professional Strongman. He is a man who has been consistent for years with hard training and things like this (Inch training) go with the terrortory. Impressive. Quote Rough is the road to the heights of greatness.
