John Beatty Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Jerry brought a hideous monster bolt over on Mon to play with. He found them at work & they are the freakiest thing I've ever grabbed. 6" x 1/4", black, allen key hex inset head. I bent a Red maybe 5 min prior to trying this monster & could only get about a 10-15 degree warp. The interesting thing was no kink spot in the middle, the whole thing just bowed into one big (well, not really big, I didn't bend it far enough) curve. I did wrap the middle so in case it snapped it wouldn't shoot shards into my neck. I'm wondering if he has some grade 12's. No markings. If he can get a few more, I'll send a few on to the experts & see what you guys think. Quote I like heavy things.
Muscle Turtle Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 John, if you do get one, Id be very interested in it. they sound like speciality bolts out of big equip. I know my dad has G9's out of Cats that are odd balls. Quote Enter the zone, feel no pain, dont hold back, and all the power in the world is in your hands...
supermagnamon Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 Wow. That sounds crazy John, you should have them on stock to sell them. Quote Real Name: Ronnie CastroBlog: http://www.thebigfilipino.com/blog.html
mmainlands Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 As Eric has mentioned to me, and I agree, any bolt that is tough and bends in that wide of an arch is hard. That big arch takes up room, so it is like bending a much shorter bolt altogether. I have used grade 2, 5/16" stainless bolts, 6" length, that bends in a very wide "U", and feels harder to me than FBBC of the same length. Muscle Turtle Posted December 28, 2005 Posted December 28, 2005 what kind of bolts do you get like that mainlands? Quote Enter the zone, feel no pain, dont hold back, and all the power in the world is in your hands...

EricMilfeld Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 what kind of bolts do you get like that mainlands? ← "F593C" is what you'll you see stamped on the top portion of the head, and "THE" on the bottom. These things are a real nuisance! Quote
CrakeN Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 (edited) JohnI sent Big Steve some Grade 12.9 bolts along time ago, they had 12.9 stamped on the head.Steve and Greg have been playing with them ← I don't think the bolts stamped with the 12.9 is the same scale as the G2, G5 & G8. we have that scale in sweden..and that scale is.. 4.5 (i think), 8.8 & 12.9. And i can tell u that a a 1/4x5" Bolt stamped with FZB 8.8 is't even near a 6" G5 bolt. the 6" G5 is much harder! gazza Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 CrakeN The 12.9 bolts are that hard 2 of the top benders in the world could not bend them Quote "There he goes. One of gods own prototypes. CrakeN Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 CrakeNThe 12.9 bolts are that hard 2 of the top benders in the world could not bend them ← Okey..i don't doubt that the 12.9 bolts are hard.. were they 1/4 or 5/16? Quote Real Name: Robert Lindh Pain is just weakness leaving the body.
gazza Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 CrakeN They were black 1/4"x10" with an allen key head. Quote "There he goes. One of gods own prototypes. A high powered mutant of some kind never ever considered for mass production.Too weird to live and too rare to die."
