Not sure about chamois, but suede leather is excellent for nail bending.

Chamois is most likey too thin and too soft with the risk of injury due to the nail puncturing it.

I would think that as long as your pads do not measure over 1.5" thick with a Red in there you are fine at what ever length. Mine are currently 4.25" Wide by 11.5" Long and measure just over 1" when rolled around a Red.

Yep to thin mate,go an buy a leather or swuede jacket from oxfam etc and cut it up.

Ok, I got some decent leather from a friend that makes leather clothes, now to try bending with it...
