oso Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Do you guys wash the handles of your grippers when they get black of dirt? Quote
Dude Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I use a stiff denture brush and scrub the skin and stuff out of them on occasion. Quote Name:Ron 2006 Goals: Grand Bastard MM3
Bearcat 74 Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I use 409 and a tooth brush, be sure to re-oil the spring also. Oldtime Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I like to clean my gripper handles because the chalk gets in the knurling and fills in the cracks, thus making the knurling less affective. Quote
Muscle Turtle Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 I dont like cleaning my grippers, the blood on them makes me realize how hard I work. Also, when I squeeze them they make squeaky noises, its like music to my ears. Quote Enter the zone, feel no pain, dont hold back, and all the power in the world is in your hands...
Mikulich Posted December 24, 2005 Posted December 24, 2005 Yes, if you don't clean the knurling the handles will have less grip and it will be harder to hold onto. A clean gripper allows you to get the best friction for a close. If you use chalk that really gums up the handles fast! Quote
Wille Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 (edited) Haha... I cleaned my #1 gripper and it looked so different afterwards. Plus, I can now do 4 more reps in one set with it. Remember to clean your grippers people. Edited December 25, 2005 by Wille Quote

Mikulich Posted December 25, 2005 Posted December 25, 2005 Thanks, so what do you use for re oiling the springs, WD40? ← I put a light coat of wd40 on all my grippers. It stops the squeak! Quote
supermagnamon Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I don't clean my grippers. I just leave as is. I just like it like that. Quote Real Name: Ronnie CastroBlog: http://www.thebigfilipino.com/blog.html
joehawkins Posted December 27, 2005 Posted December 27, 2005 I had to oil mine, cuyz the squeaking made the dogs go nuts. Squeeze, bark, squeeze, bark, I think my wife was going to kill me. I'd also like to point out that there is an auto product called Autosol, which you can get at like jcwhitney.com, that is a golden gem in the world of rust removal and metal polishing. It is an awesome abrasive, if you want to really go at your grippers. Quote
