king crusher
finally got my new 4 and first off it is the best looking gripper i own, the spring is shiny silver crome. this thing is a friggin BEAST! i cant imagine anyone closing this thing....ever! the spread is 3 1/8 inches! and it kinda makes little creaking sounds when you squeeze it. i cant do anything with my left and even in my right theres no hope. i cant even close it with two hands. it also came with a credit card to train with...yeah right lol. i think they made this so no one closes it lol. japlha
I just got my Trainer, #2, and #3. For some reason I thought the Trainer was a #1. Guess I'll have to order a #1. All I can say is I'm humbled that I'm struggling with the trainer. I can get the #2 half way with my right hand. I can move it a bit with my left. #3 I can almost close using both hands at the same time. #4 hmmmm. #3 and #4 both seem impossible. Isn't it dangerous for someone to have that kind of grip strength? I'm sure you could crush someone's throat quite easily. ugh
TelegraphKey
Yeah, I saw another thread where someone listed all the different spring tensile strengths of most of the various available grippers -- from IronMind, BeefBuilder, & maybe others. It goes up from CoC #1 through the BB's (Super? Classic? I'm not sure). The IM CoC's top out at a certain tensile strength (the #4), but the BB's go on at least 2 or 3 gripper-strengths past THAT! And someone wrote, "What are we supposed to do with the BB (Galaxy, or whatever the strongest one's called), look at them on our coffee tables?" In the new IronMind 2006 catalog, there's a picture of Magnus Samuelsson (of just his hand, actually) closing a #4. It's pretty incredible. His hand's so frigging big, you can't even see the gripper. (Perhaps they're lying!) It's clenched so tightly, it looks JUST LIKE Wannagrip's avatar: Art-Deco Stalinist-Soviet-Union glory of a mighty, super-muscular superhero forearm & mighty hand, crushing the world's strongest object... There are some amazing muscles in Samuelsson's lower-lower forearm, bulges I'm nowhere even close to seeing on mine. powerac
hi guys this my first post (apart from introducing myself as well). i want to ask a question about the #3. am a powerlifter in the 90kg(198lb) category but am training my grip as well, especially crush. at the moment am just over halfway on closing the #2 with both hands. given my bodyweight, could i realistically, with proper consistent training over the years, hope to close the #3 one day? and how important is ur bodyweight when it comes to training ur grip? John Beatty
Joe Kinney was only about 175 when he closed the #4. Isn't the Holle brother that closed the #4 under 200 also? Steve Mcgranahan only weighed around 165 when he closed the #4 at the BBB, right?........ Edited December 21, 2005 by John Beatty
Matt Van Weele
I met Magnus and his hands aren't as big as they may look. If I had to guess at their size I'd say maybe 8 1/4''. Bigger than average but I've seen plenty of guys with much bigger paws than him.
