Ish
I can bend a blue DU now, but I can't even budge it DO. I have been watching some videos and watched Clay's red bend DO, but I can't do it at all. Is there a few tips or ways to train for DO? DU just feels much more natural to me. steelbiceps
Neither can I, and I wonder if it's a body-type thing. I can't get any leverage with DO. It's hard for me to get my elbows up high and the bar up high. If I try DO, it's always belly-button level, at least until there's a big kink. Maybe my technique is all wrong, but DU feels more natural...
Jeff Parker
I can't bend DO until the kink is around 45deg. I start out using a reverse style, just seems comfortable for me. Using DO, I can barely do a yellow, using the reverse I can kink a Red, just need to work on the crush down.
porky
http://dieselcrew.com/articles/gregdavebend2.pdf read that article watch some videos and try to immitate what they do. but do it on a pre kinked bar to 10-40 degrees or so. changing pos etc trying diff stuff until you can get it to bend, then try it again on another piece with less of a kink until you can do it on a straight piece. and then just keep practicing. Oldtime
there are a million and one reasons why you arnt as good DO as you are DU. You could be holding the nail too close to the center, you could be bending purley with your wrists, the list goes on, just try to do volume bending to perfect your form. Dude
DO took me a looong time to pick up. I used to bend DU only. The best thing is to start out with the easiest stuff you can and work your way up. I started with TT, and couldnt even move them. Just keep practicing and watching videos on here and it will just "click" one day I assure you. Grab some 3/16 stuff if you can and practice with that. A good portion of bending is technique and once you have it down your set. Unless your like me and lose it after a few days of not bending, lol
com202
Great advice from Dude. I was able to bend a Grade8 just by working on my technique. Keep working on the tech. and it will all of a sudden " click", like Dude said. \\m//
steelbiceps
If DU seems natural and works, why the emphasis on changing to DO? Some people do really impressive stuff DU.
com202
Don't change If DU is what works for you. I started with DU, but When I figured out DO my bending went through the roof. Plus an injury kept me from doing DU
Ish
Wow, thanks for the replies all. I'll keep working on it and practicing both. Thanks again.
supermagnamon
I can't DO for crap, I'm sticking with DU all the way.
FatBoy
Same goes for me I can't bend crap DO. I've tryed and tryed but my short arms are much stronger using DU. Although I still use DO to try and improve my grip and wrist strength.
