cyclops
As some of you know, I've been out of the grip game for several months. I'm so out of the loop I'm not sure how to start back up, so I was hoping to get some advice on how to structure my routine. I have: IM #1-4 HG100-300 HG300 in a choke collar BBSM 30lb hex 3/16" CRS 1/4" HRS RT 35lb KB cinder block (for narrow pinch) I can also do farmer's walks (DBs only go up to 120 though), plate pinches, and bar holds at the gym. I'm a bit less than 1/4" away from closing the BBSM (I did it before but need to work back up to it), and half a hair from the HG250 (everything but the click). I can manage to break the 30lb hex off the floor once, for a few seconds, and then I have to take about a week off from the block before I can manage it again. I haven't tested myself on bending in months, so I don't know where I am there. My gym owner won't allow me to bring the RT in (for the moment...), so that's out for now unless I manage to convince him otherwise. I like to use the KB for bottoms-up holds for time for my wrists, but I'm open to other suggestions on how to use it for grip (flips and such are no good because my downstairs neighbor complains when I drop it ). I can add weights to the cinder block. Any suggestions for how to incorporate these things into my grip training? After next week, the KB, cinder block, and hex are out of the picture for a month because I'm going home for Christmas break, so maybe I should just leave these out for the next week also and start using them when I get back? My hands could always take a lot of frequency and a decent amount of volume, except for pinch stuff. BTW, I lift on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday (weird, I know, but those are pretty much the only 3 days I have available). I do deadlifts on Fridays, so that's when my grip is hit hardest in the gym, if that's important info. I would try to put together a routine and ask you guys what you thought needs changing, but I really feel like I need to get my head back in the grip game before I'm able to do that. Or maybe I'm making it too difficult on myself and should just pick up some toys and go at it. Whatever you guys think, I know y'all know what you're talking about. Wayne
i'm not really training pinch right now but with the grippers i will say this, just squeeze that 250 non stop till you can consistantly close it and then file it down. this should give you that 1/4 inch on the sm back in no time.
