Michael86 Posted November 30, 2005 Posted November 30, 2005 Well I was just on today I guess.Came home from a shitty as usual business professional speaking class saw the bastard laying out and couldn't resist.I gave my self a pretty generous set on the first rep, let it open up in my hand to damn near completely open if it wasn't then it was a an 1/8 short maybe(its a 2.75 spread, 05, #2) then I just gave it my all and felt a good solid metal to metal close.I've been closing it for about a week now but every time was w/ a very generous"basically parallel" set. I pretty much knew I would half to do it on the second rep since I've been tryin to close it, thats the only way I feel comfortable enough to make sure its a good CC set. I didn't reach for the Drivers license"poor college kid,no credit cards, their the same size right?" in a moment of haste because I know the gripper and I knew she was damn near all the way open.I remember a thread afew months ago when I joined where I think it was soilworker or somebody else maybe that said its best to train CCset from the get go of your gripper training if you ever plan on cert'ing the #3 because of some rule change ironmind made.I took their advice and so far it has paid off.Ill try to put some effort into video'ing it"no camera, once again broke college kid" but Im sure I'll be able to find somebody whos mommy and daddy sent a camcorder w/ them.I know its no big accomplishment but i'm still pleased because 3 months ago I couldn't even get it to parallel.I definantly feel I could have done it faster If I would have trained harder and more often, thats why Im considering ordering KTA in the near future, proly once I can get a good solid five squeezes on the #2 and some more progress on the #3.The #4 will definantly be on the christmas list because those heavy negatives on the #3 definantly aided in my training to.As far as rateing it the only other gripper I can compare it to would proly be my HG250 and the #2 is little bit harder maybe 15lbs of resistance I really have no clue.Welp my fingers are tired, Yall take it easy. Zizou Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Nice job man congrats, i close my#2 today too, so lets see who get the bastard #3 first Quote
GatorGrip Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Way to grind those handles my fellow Gripster! Great job the #2 down and many goals to look forward to achieving in the future. Don't just train harder but also smarter by not neglecting active recovery and make mini goals in your pursuit for the # 3. Don't be afraid to try new things be it high volume reps, intense negatives, strap holds or even other complimentary exercises with things like block weights, extensor bands, heavy shot rotation or any other exercise that will help you gain total and balanced hand & wrist strength.
