TennisDude
Can it be that quartering a deck is actually easier than tearing it in half? For me it seems so. I have yet to tear a full deck of cards completely in half. Today, I went for a full deck. I got the tear started to about halfway, and I decided to grab between the tear and pull, thereby quartering it. The pull seemed a lot easier than the tear and I was successfully able to take a quarter out of the deck. Am I missing something here? Thanks, TennisDude
TennisDude
Though I won't count it as ripping a deck until I do it in one motion, I just ripped one for the first time. Feeling pretty good and my thumbpad got quite the workout. One question I had was, if my bends are always angling to the left (the left hand) does that mean that my right hand is too much on the deck while my left isn't? kerbjr
Im confused did you 1/2 the first deck or quarter it? In order to quarter it you would have to 1/2 it first????????Brett
TennisDude
Ohhhhhh yeah! Duh! I took a chunk out of it, a quarter of a chunk. What is it called when it is a chunk? More importantly, if the bend isn't straight half way between, is it still considered ripping the deck?
Dude
TD what brand cards did you use?
TennisDude
Some random dollar store cards. They were 2 for a dollar. Sweet deal.

kerbjr
Or just an off center tear gone wild anyhow good work and keep it up. By the way quartering is easier for me (at least some of the time) with the cheaper decks than 1/2 ing due to my smallish hands......Brett
TennisDude
Started in the center, then it goes wild and swings to the left big time. It is hard because then I start being forced to rip to the side and then it only gets worse.
Cunny
This may be affected by how the grain runs in the cards
Zakath
Actually I just think you have to grab the cards harder and continue twisting in the right direction, maybe try changing techninque after the first part of the bend. If you were having problems tearing a full deck.
Dude
I'm gonna drop by the dollar store and see if they have some cards there. I would have to say that I'm completely terrible at tearing cards.
