j.scribner
Good job!! I tried my first phone book today, and didn't get it. It's only about 1/2" thick, so it's not a whopper (don't even know how many pages, actually). I got some "fracture tears on both sides about 1/4 of the way through, but just couldn't quite get it torn. Really worked my hands and grip though. Surprising what you can find to do during a long boring surgical case..... I also took a stack 3/8" thick of some 3"x3" note papers and worked them all day trying to crush them into as small a ball as I could. That also made my hands feel like I'd been working grippers all day, and I got several blisters and toughened up my old callouses. That's a good one for desk jockeys, and is quieter than my grippers, which drive the surgeons nuts when I do them during the surgical cases. ("squeak, squeak, squeak") Good grip tools are everywhere... John Scribner
j.scribner
BTW- a question for the guys who regularly tear theses things. Is there an "easier" way to tear a phone book. I noticed you tore yours lengthwise, and I was doing it the other way today. Is there any difference? I've never tried it before today... ryaneverk2
Let the CLAY by your guide: http://www.gripboard.com/index.php?showtopic=12203 Clay is a beastly phone book tearer, and showed me all he knows (or at least most of it). It's a blast to tear phone books! Not to mention the crowd appeal of how showy it is. Edited September 10, 2005 by ryaneverk2
