DuTCH
Has anybody tried to have the inch made? Not just a handle, but the actual dumbell? If so, how did you go about it? Will costs come down to as much as the actual handle
Dude
Good question, I've wondered this myself. I was actually thinking of a way to devise a temporary handle thats the same thickness of the inch db and bringing it to the gym and sort of clipping it to the handle and trying to lift it. When I move into my house at school in a few days I'm gonna make some stones for lifting, I think I might make an inch replica replica as well. deaner
If you have a thick dumbell of the same diameter and pull 172.. then whats the difference? I'm still a bit confused of the difference. I have a thick DB with pvc handle and have only pulled 140 with it, but it rolled out of my hand just like the inch is supposed to.
pexter
if you happen to find a foundry to make the actual mold for the dumbell. It would cost a few thousand bucks. So you would be better off getting it from a distributor.Like sorinex or ironmind. Has anybody tried to have the inch made? Not just a handle, but the actual dumbell? If so, how did you go about it? As one who has trained to and then lifted the Inch (the Dutch wishes to emulate me ha ha) I found that you needed to pull more on a plate loaded bell than one a solid dumbbell. How did you know And that is what i figured too, and that is why a thick dumbell wich consist out of two things, the handle and the weights added, will never feel the same as one solid piece of iron Edited September 4, 2005 by DuTCH
mobsterone
I found 40-60lbs over the Inch weight was about right (for me 212 lbs).
