Just got confirmed I got a VERY wellpaid 2 week job starting next week so I "celebrated" by ordering a full set of Robert barabans grippers. 70 - 330 lps, 10 grippers in all.

A friend will bring them here beginning next month, can hardly wait. :D:D

Wow. Way to go bigspender. :D I like the RB240s. Very stout.

Does Robert Baraban give you a free trip to Austria to see the factory when you buy the whole shooting match? :laugh

I am positive you will not be disappointed with the quality of his grippers as they are second to none, especially aesthetically.

Good investment for a lifetime of training that grip.

I have a (gator) Green 240, Silver 260N and a Black 330N - I sure love them and you will to. :D

No I am not a paid advertiser for RB Grippers but I have stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.:whistel

Congrats..RB makes very nice grippers. I find the spreads, about 75 mm to be a bit wide for me, and prefer RB Narrows of which I own 6.

Did you get basic Aluminum or splurge for something more exotic ?

I'm a humble man so basic alu handles will do. :D

I chose alu because they are lighter, if I'd take brass or steel my friend who brings them over wouldn't have any room for his own stuff. 10 steel grippers would be a few kilos!

BTW, what's the spread on the RB Narrows?

I've read somewhere that the narrow are easier to close but shouldn't a RB 240 and a RB 240N both require 240 pound to close and therefor be the same?

I have a strong sweep (compared to the crush which is pathetic :cry ) so the larger spred doesn't matter so much.

Which website did you order the barabans from?

A friend (in Sweden) will order them and bring them here next month. It's no use for me to order from here (Thailand) because the customs officials are a bunch of thiefs and will ask for an "extra tax" (read bribe) if they are going to hand them over.

I've been in contact with http://www.intensefitness.net in UK since that is the closest to Sweden and hopefully cheapest shipping. I've given that website to the guy buying for me but he's going to do some "research" to see if there's a cheaper place maybe in Sweden.

Including shipping the 10 grippers will cost app. 300$US (170£) a fair amount to spend on grippers but it's a once in a lifetime purchase. With the IM Trainer, #1, #2, #3 (and a filed #1 on the way) I should have enough grippers?? At least for a while. :D

The lesser spread makes it easier because the spring doesn't have to close as tightly as on the wider grippers. RB's poundages are based on the regular width grippers and not the narrows, they are easier.

Yeah... it sounds like you've pretty much set yourself up with "grippers for life."

Eventually (soon) I'm going to be needing a Baraban 210 or 240 (or both) so I'm just trying to sniff out the most reputable site to order from.

Can't say I'm not a little jealous by the purchase, but enjoy that "kid at christmas" feeling when they get there

You can order RB's from Daleharder @comcast.net and his name is oldtimer here on GB.

Or directly from RB himself at info@handgripper.net
