Sean Dockery
I know it's short notice, but wanted to extend the invitation. Nick Rosendaul and his brother, Stewart, are coming out to play around on Saturday the 23rd. Anybody who wants to come over for a day of gripping and miscellaneous strength goofing off is welcome. Lots of blockweights, thickbars, sledges and some gripsters should result in a great time! Come one! Come all! PM me for details.

Sean Dockery
Well, tomorrow's the big day. The invitation stands open. Come on out and meet folks in person! Find out if they are really as wierd as they seem on the internet! Learn the deep secrets of gripdom! I'm not very good at making these little gatherings sound cool. How about... Buckeye Grip Bash '04 Hilliard Hand Strength Festival Gripageddon Ted Nugent's Grip Camp (to the tune of "Stranglehold") See, all terrible names. Sean Dockery
Blobtoberfest is over. Jake Brooks, Nick Rosendaul (nickr104), Stewart Rosendaul (stew2), and myself had a nice couple hour workout. 3" thickbar cleans were first. Followed by 2.5 db c+j. Then 2.5 db snatches. Adn then the pull of blockweights could no longer be resisted. Jake, Nick and stew all deadlifted 170 on the 3" bar. Jake cleaned 100 on the 2.5 db. Nick gave Stew a little techinque briefing on the grippers and Stew closed my #2 in convincing fashion. Stew high pulled all my blocks below the 50 Blob and then got stone walled by the big boy. Definitely a lot of potential in the Rosendaul family. Stew hasn't lifted seriously in 6-7 years. And today was his first real exposure to the gripping thing. Nicki pulled the Blob a few times and fussed around trying 3, and 2 finger lifts with it. Then he put on his 2 45's show deadlifting them with authority. Jake pulled the Blob and just missed a full lift lefty. Then gave me technique pointers on my clean (which is very ugly). Finally we wandered outside and started the stone and keg lifting. Jake made everything look soooo easy. My 230 keg flew up, same with my 300 natural stone. Jake took the 300 for a nice little stroll across the yard. Then I had to pick it all up and move it back. A warning to anyone who lifts with Jake: He likes dropping stones in the mud then walking away to let you get dirty bringing them back. Stew showed the wisdom of his greater years by stopping short of injury noting, "I've got to work on Monday." I let everyone in on the secrets of butt in the air extreme round back lifting. Nicki laughed mercilessly as I struggled to stiff legged deadlift my 300 pound stone. We all had chores and things to do. So the party broke up. A great time. Mebbe more of ya'll will show next time...
