Clay Edgin
I took my new #3 that is already pretty hard and chopped off 3/8" from the bottom of each handle, so now I have two aspirin-sized aluminum chunks with "3" stamped on each one. The handles are now a little over 3 1/4" long and the spread is between 2 5/8" and 2 3/4". I was going to cut a half inch off, but even with 3/8" gone it is very hard. It's like a BBSE now but with a smoother sweep. At around parallel it toughens up so much it feels like I'm going to blow the spring out which is entirely possible I guess. EricMilfeld
Strongmitts made one of these out of a #2. It now feels like almost a #3.

OldGuy
Stamp a "5" on the end of each handle.
Lyle
never heard of that before Clay, sounds like another way to work up the ladder, if used with smaller grippers?
Bill Piche
Stamp a "5" on the end of each handle. ← Cut grippers are definitely a must in anyone's tools of grip. Hey OldGuy, nice avatar!

Clay Edgin
I think so, yeah. I will have to try it at the beginning of a workout, rather than at the end.
