Cut Up A Gripper Today

Clay Edgin

Recommended Posts

I took my new #3 that is already pretty hard and chopped off 3/8" from the bottom of each handle, so now I have two aspirin-sized aluminum chunks with "3" stamped on each one. The handles are now a little over 3 1/4" long and the spread is between 2 5/8" and 2 3/4". I was going to cut a half inch off, but even with 3/8" gone it is very hard. It's like a BBSE now but with a smoother sweep. At around parallel it toughens up so much it feels like I'm going to blow the spring out which is entirely possible I guess.

Strongmitts made one of these out of a #2. It now feels like almost a #3.

Stamp a "5" on the end of each handle.

Cut grippers are definitely a must in anyone's tools of grip.

Hey OldGuy, nice avatar! :laugh

Genetics mean nothing we now know. Size is not relevant, and age of course makes no difference. All men are created equal. Everything is in the mind. :whistel

I took a real good crack at this gripper tonight and missed it by 1/4". A little piece of me died when I realized I missed a 3 :laugh

I think so, yeah. I will have to try it at the beginning of a workout, rather than at the end.
