Rick Browne
What's the narrowest grippers available ? Has anybody ever seen a gripper with 2" spread ? I'm asking if it exist before I start looking for one. I do not know about a 2" spread I have several of Baraban's RB Crushers. The (N) narrow model. They are right at 2 5/8ths. However, these models are 2 yrs. old. So I do not know if his present day models are that width. Tetting can turn down a gripper to 2 5/8........... A choker is a solution to narrow down the width as well. Shoot Baraban an email and tell him what you are looking for or call Warren. Bob Lipinski
The heavy grips grippers are very narrow on average, at least the newer ones.
handgripperman
Warren will make you almost anything you want with grippers. call him and tell him you want a super narrow gripper im sure he will be happy to make it for you
Sybersnott
Tetting can turn down a gripper to 2 5/8........... ← I ordered some Elites from Tetting and had the handles turned down as much as possible. They are very narrow (I could measure them if you want me to).
bencrush
I'd go with the hose clamp option. Buy whatever strength gripper you want. Then put it in the desired range with a hose clamp. Squeeze and repeat as needed.
Darco
I have grippers in hose clamps but I want one that's just naturally ridiculesly narrow, maybe 2" was a strech but <2.5 would be preferable. Bob I have the Heavy Grips and they are narrower than my other grippers but not narrow enough for my liking. I want something that I can no Set EFFORTLESLY but then becomes a beast to crush down. Vice
Tetting will make you a 2.5" spread. Thats as narrow as i've ever seen.
bencrush
Tetting made me a 2.5" SM and GM. They were both excellent grippers. And both exceptionally easy to no set close or attempt. The only recommendation I would make is what I have mentioned earlier regarding the fact that at the narrower widths, the grippers become easier to close. So you might order one above what you think you might need.

FrankyBoy
My narrowest gripper is a RB300N with a spread of 5.9cm or 2.32".
Rick Browne
My narrowest gripper is a RB300N with a spread of 5.9cm or 2.32". Whoa! That must be one tightly coiled spring......... Did you request the gripper with this width? or is this Baraban`s now standard narrow width?
FrankyBoy
I just ordered a narrow one. However its one with a black spring and steal (non alu) handles. A very nice and heavy gripper. About a 3.1 or so and double the weight of the classic grippers. I already ordered the brand new RB330N. My narrowest gripper is a RB300N with a spread of 5.9cm or 2.32". Whoa! That must be one tightly coiled spring......... Digdogz
Darco - "I want something that I can no Set EFFORTLESLY but then becomes a beast to crush down." I have to go with the flow here, I have a RB240N and this is good for the set and then comes the challenge... Its the hardest crush point I come up against....apart from the #3 that is Digz. Darco
Digdogz---- your 240 is a little easier than three ?
Digdogz
Darco - My Rb240n is a lot easier than the #3 I have, I don't know if my #3 is a beast as I have no others to compare it to, but out of all my grippers (HG300 included) my #3 is the hardest by far. This, I think, is because it's really quite wide (wider than my older #2) whereas the others seem more suited to my 7" paws. As said before though, the crush on my 240 is great and a constant battle to get close on. I give it a couple of weeks daily training and it will go down! Then onto the HG300. I would always advise a range of in-between grippers so as to get varying strengths from which to move on and conquer. Digz.
ihatescrnname
i dislike hose clamps, they get in my way. the way i hold the gripper, basically the whole handle is across my hand from top to bottom in the middle of me palm. also hose clamps don't move with the gripper as you close it also making pinching skin likely. AND in order to get the clamp on you need to crush it down wich is a pain in the ass, one that is ready is much better for the lazies... me
jad
What's the narrowest grippers available ? Has anybody ever seen a gripper with 2" spread ? I'm asking if it exist before I start looking for one. ← The GM cert grippers have 2 1/8 to 2 1/4" spread. They are made by Tetting so I'm sure he'd make you one to if you call him. The GM2 is a sweet gripper, not bad to TNS but the final crush is a hard #3. It's an Elite spring, with the flush mounting and 2 1/8" spread.
