VeGripper
Tried some liquid chalk at a rainy outdoor O-lift event this summer and it worked really well for keeping moisture-free - only had to use one application for almost an hour's time, so it was good stuff. I'd forgotten about it until now, but I wanted to check and see if anyone here uses it for grip work, specifically pinch gripping. Seems that the combo of chalk and alcohol may be a good thing as opposed to good 'ol dusty chalk, so if anyone's got info on experience with it post here! SqeezeMasterFlash
Never heard of it, but I'd be willing to give it a try. Where do you get it?
VeGripper
Going to check REI here locally (the guy who supplied me for the event said it was where he got his) but a search online will turn up a few places selling it. Looks to be around $14 per bottle, but I'd think with needing only one or two applications per workout you'd get a lot of mileage out of it. Plus, no dust to get all over everything in your home and no violation of the usual no-chalk rule in many gyms is a nice bonus! SqeezeMasterFlash
I found it. Only $4-$5 on Froogle.
smitty
What you want is Dryhands.com - we have used it over the years and it works very well.
SqeezeMasterFlash
I didn't know that was still up and running. I heard on here a few months ago that it was being discontinued.
denver
My friends and I have used it for climbing and like it somewhat. Concensus among us was to use it as a base and then use normal gymnastic chalk as well. We found that you need to rechalk a little bit less often when you use the liquid chalk as a base. We never got much millage out of liquid chalk alone, however we did not used it for anything but climbing. Also, climbing outside there is almost no reason to limit the amount of chalk used, but inside things get really messy. I have drifted away from using these last couple of year just because of cost and gear. I like to pack as little gear as possible.
