after i workout with the grippers and other exercises. i always wake up with very stiff fingers and sore pinky. but not sore enough where i can't move it. but it seems like my fingers are stiff and i have to move them around first before they get soft again. does this mean i am training too hard or is that the way the rest of you guys feel after a workout.

I would safely say we all do "or at least have felt that way". If your doing any high volume training it's probably worse, it's the same as heavy squats they are stiff and sore from the lactic acid. do some hand therapy when you can. stuff like hands soaks.

Kelby,

It could be a volume and/or an age related thing. Or a combination of both. How often do you train grippers, how many sets and reps and how old are you?

My fingers are a bit stiff after a high volume workout but it fades within a couple of hours. You may just need more time with a little less volume.

Extensor work with rubber bands or surgical tubing may also help.
