I recognize two of the guys, one of whom I elected as the governor of my state, but who is the one in the middle? I wonder if any of these gripper devices still exist?

I think I've seen one of those things.... they are called Eagle Catchers or something like that. Browse around some of the martial arts places; chances are that they still carry those things.

I bought one of those grippers more than 25 years ago. Maybe about the time that picture was taken. It was called Tiger's Claw. It is very low resistance. I still use it for a warm up. Seems to help general hand dexterity also.

Oh hell yea! That's Zane! And I have one of those grippersI I bought it when I was a teenager. I bought a lot of things from Weider back then. The Twister, The Power braclets, the drinking mugs with his name on it, and the Claw.

Sixgun....

One more thing. There is a martial arts store here in Columbus that sells those grippers right now. I don't think they are the original Weider gripper, but they are made the same.

It seems that if one made webbing loops for the fingers instead of the wire (ouch) it might be a very useful machine.. And of course you could replace the springs if you needed heavier tension..
