Sean Dockery
That's really good! Actually, I'd call it world class. I'm understanding you correctly? The block you lifted weighed 65 lbs??
Jedd Johnson
That's awesome. Not sure how wide my blocks are, but I am sure the measurements you mentioned are comparable. -Jedd-
Lyle
I don't pinch myself, but I read other post of those who do and I'd say the 65lber is damn respectable, nice work
Jake Brooks
just to clear the air this is not a hex block...it is a perfict cylinder shape. it almost resembles a piece of giant bar stock. as I said before its about 4 and 3/4 wide across the top...where you grab

OldGuy
That is the most I have heard of being lifted with half of a solid dumbbell.
EricMilfeld
Super thumbs! Jake, have you tried the Blob? How do the two compare?
Jake Brooks
you know i have never lifted the Blob I have stirred it around and almost broke it off the ground but never actually lifted it...I think mainly the shape of the blob, the rounded edges and the swolen sides it what makes it so hard to lift. I have tons of respect for anyone who has lifted it. I feel the main difference btw the blob and my block weights has to be the shape, mine are perfect cylinder shaped therefore they have a hard edge just like an olympic plate, they feel much better to me than the blob does. Does any one know where I can get a blob, I would love to lift that thing one day.
Jake Brooks
by the way the measurements on my big block are 4 3/4"wide x 8"high x 26"diameter. Maybe I can get Dockery over here and get some video one of these days, or any one else in or around "Cow Town" anyone is invited just c-mon over
mobsterone
Either way it's still good. At Seni 2003 Stan Pike had a similar shaped 50 lb block which I could do easily but 100's of guys tried and failed with. It had the same flatter sharper shaped side you mention. I'll see if I can find a link. When fresh I was able to pinch it by the thinner section and later on just the fatter sides. Here's the link: http://www.intensefitness.co.uk/images/IF-block.jpg If you look at the site he also does a more blob like item: http://www.intensefitness.co.uk/Products-Grip-Tool.html
