heatwave13
Hey guys, This is my first post here and I'm looking forward to gaining some knowledge. My question is about the rolling thunder handle from Ironmind. I will probably order one in the near future but was wondering what sort of loading pin is recommended for it. I know that ironmind offers one but was wondering if I may find one at a better price somewhere else or whether or not I can make one on my own. Any ideas for me??? Thanks :stuart
mrzero
Welcome. I've been toying with making a loading pin lately and haven't come up with a good one yet. The IM pin and carbiner is $34 for the OLY sized one I think, if you're ordering a RT already I think you'd probably be well served grabbing that at the same time. I haven't gotten one yet and am making do with an eyebolt/washer assembly which is fine for the light weights but I don't trust it and need to upgrade. Trust me it'll serve you well once you get hooked on gripstuff.
wsm_fan_uk
Ironmind have been very shrewd by excluding the weight of the loading pin in totals, meaning that if you want to compare your totals to official ones you should get the IM pin. If not make your own or buy from a cheaper company. A search of the board should reveal a lot of different solutions.
Clay Edgin
Check out the gallery for my vbar. You can get 2" pipe and a bigger flange to screw onto the end for cheap, and then you just need to find a way to fasten an I-bolt or something to the other end of the pipe in order to snap on the carabiner and handle. Lyle
MRZERO, I used a 12; piece of 1inch bar with a 1inch flat washer welded on one end and half a link of chain welded on the other, easily holds 200lbs, not that I need that much but it holds it.
