ishred
during my grip training today i went for 4 10's and pulled it easy....with the right, then with the left. WOOT
Meat Loaf
That's all the more impressive due to your smaller hands, man. MANOWAR!!! MEAT
ishred
but 5 tens will never happen...unless i use standard plates.
ironorr
Great work! I have small hands and it took my a while before I could do the 4 10's as well. You try and do the 4 10's with 3 fingers and 2 fingers at a time to gain enough strength to possibly get the 5 10's. Can you at least get your fingertips on them? ironorr
Also working with larger and larger block weights seem to make plate pinching seem easier, but that's just me.

Sybersnott
but 5 tens will never happen...unless i use standard plates. DON'T EVER SAY THAT!! Just think of it as Work In Progress... it'll happen just like the 4 10's did! Ya gotta start thinking positive now.....
bencrush
Great work, Ishred...5 tens will fall for you in time.

The Mac
OK, I wasn't going to, but I'll bite.... Please post a pic of your hand on 5x10's. If your fingertips and thumbs genuinely do not touch the sides, I'll go "Ah..." and try to make you feel better about NEVER getting 5x10's. Otherwise, it's just a problem with your attitude. Do you still believe that you cannot close a #3 with a Credit-Card set, despite the comments of some of the world's best gripsters? And you can probably do it without having to develop "The World's Strongest Hands" either, which I hope was just a frustrated off-the-cuff statement and not a troll for attention? If I am sounding like an asshole, good. I was pleased with you for your 4x10's, it is a worthy feat, but then you had to let the negativity drop in. This is a shame, as you seem to have some real talent in the grip area, despite your small hands. It would be a shame to let that talent go to waste due to your own limiting concepts of what is possible, don't you think??
twig
As a great man once said. "Do, or do not, there is no try" Belief in yourself is the strongest muscle you've got. BTW, congrats. Edited September 2, 2004 by twig
SqeezeMasterFlash
Great job on 4 10's! If OldGuy can fit his hands on 9 10's you should be able to fit your hands on five, even if just barely. You'll get 'em someday. Just keep working hard.
ishred
i'll post a pic when i can. I can get my finger tips around the edge..including the just up to the end of the nail of my thumb. the reason why i think it isn't possible because when i squeeze hard, the plates start to separate at the bottom. I'll work with 5 or more standard plates in the mean time. besides...i'm allowed to get negative with myself...i don't pose the challenge, who will? Sybersnott
As a great man once said. "Do, or do not, there is no try" I think that was the character Yoda in one of those Star Wars movies. He was teaching Luke how to move large things using the power of his mind, i.e. using "The Force".
Bob Lipinski
I think you can get the 5 10's. I have small hands, and while I can't do 5 10's, they do seem possible. However, lifting the blob by the face IS an impossible feat for me.
itch85
i can break 5 10's to about knee hight with 2 hands at once and i only have small hands so it is possible.
