    Extra workout (19.5.2019.): Flat DB flyes: 12.5 kg x 20 x 3 superset DB lateral raises: 12.5 kg x 12 x 3 Band triceps pushdown (light blue band): 50 x 2 superset Band biceps curl: 50 x 2 DB floor press: 12.5 kg x 20 superset DB Zydrunas press: 12.5 kg x 12 Huge pump in my chest, arms and shoulders. Done in about 20 minutes.

Block Foot Step Throw A-position drill A-position + right foot step drill Backwards throw - Total throws =30 Set PB with 5 kg shot = 17 m Felt pretty satisfied with training session.

    2019 APL World Armlifting Championships - Results

    I was very disappointed in my performance, but it was awesome being a part of team USA. There was a real sense of national pride! Meeting my teammates from all over the country, in another country, was unique. There was a lot of camaraderie. Meeting people from other countries was a real treat! It was a wonderful experience that I’ll never forget.

    My training for the #3 cert

    So the most important thing when training for hypertrophy according to the latest studies on the subject suggest that total volume (not necessarily time under tension) is the driving factor for growth, in conjunction with training close to or preferably to failure, as long as the resistance is reasonable. Training with 20 reps is virtually as effective as 8 reps for example when it comes to building muscle. Super high reps however is not effective. Volume needs to increase over time also, not stagnate. Also like I said, training to failure seems to have a really big impact on muscle growth. This also suggests that going beyond failure with immediate drop sets for example could be very effective for hypertrophy, although no research has been done on that specifically as far as I know. Thought it was rather interesting. Also hypertrophy is necessary for maximum strength... in fact primarily concentrating on hypertrophy in training and only short strength peaking cycles once in a while seems to be the best possible way to get as strong as possible. Only concentrating on strength will make your ceiling rather low. I'll use this approach for crushing for a few months, trying to get my finger flexors and forearms as big as they can be with pure bodybuilding training, and then return to heavy singles for a few months. It will be interesting. It is also why I primarily do finger curls atm since grippers really isnt the best way for hypertrophy for a couple of reasons.

    Jedd - Do you know the following: 1) the RGC rating of the COC 3 for this medley? 2) the brand of cards to tear? 3) the pads for the 60d bend (or barehand)? 4) the brand of the blob (original, legacy, etc.)? 5) what the 56lb block looks like? I have one or two other questions that I should be able to answer by googling, but those I think only you can answer. Like I don't know what a slim lever is, or a wrist wrench, but I think that is stuff I can find by looking. Thanks!

    Today's training (18.5.2019.): Reverse band bench press (mini bands): 100 kg x 3; 130 kg x 1; 140 kg x 1; 150 kg x 0; 150 kg x 1 PR; 152.5 kg x 0 JM press: 90 kg x 5 x 5 all time PR superset 1h cable row: from less to more weight x 15 x 4 Rolling thunder: 62.5 kg x 1 x 10 all time volume PR Very satisfied with everything. I missed the first 150 kg attempt because of technical issue, not lowering the bar fast enough, and I've done it right in the next one. Very surprised with the RT performance, and the main thing I've concluded is that I perform better with no warm up, going to 85-90% on the 1st set.
