maidenfan
Good morning out of the hole is my problem too - pretty common for most people. Its easy to get away with it for a while, but you'll (at least I did) hit a wall by injury or by weight. I'm going to back off the weight and really focus on the form. Going to keep it light enough to accomplish that. I may have to cut back on the gripping. After a big grip workout, my hands (especially the right) tend to fall asleep very easily when I sleep and when I type on the computer. It goes away after a few days of not gripping - gonna have to do some research on this one.

maidenfan
Cool, thanks for the links - seems what I have with the exception my "needles and pins/hand asleep" is the entire hand, not just the ring/pinky - I suspect its the same problem though. Alawadhi
Maybe there is not much of blood circulation? Everyday for 2 to 5 minutes move your hand in a circular motion FAST, then repeat with the other hand. This will get the blood to your hands. Plus when you watch TV lay on the ground and your legs on something above ground level by at least a feet. Like a box or a chair. This will improve blood circulation. maidenfan
10-25-07 "MG Grappler" Squats - Bars x 3, 90x10, 140x10 Cable Hip Belt Squats - 80x8, 100x8, 120x8, 140x5, 100x8 Hammer Strength 4way Neck - 35x20, 45x20, 55x20 Band Stretching w/Neck (hook bands to power rack then stretch them out using the neck - good exercise) The "MG Grappler" is my cheap version of the "Westside Grappler". I got some T-Bar brackets from NYBB for $80 shipped. Gonna mount them on a wood frame and I"ll be in it for under $100. Real thing cost almost $400 from Elite. And to be honest, all you really need is two bars as if you have something that'll create a little friction (carpet, etc) on the bar they'll stay put. odin
Suitcase DL's felt really good - going to try them for a while - they give you a good hand/wrist workout too. Morgan, I was thinking, "that must not be too hard for him, thats about his BW", but then saw 275 in EACH HAND on youtube and how easy that looked and I'm still dumbfounded. Just getting them off the ground at the same time with any kind of a challenging weight must be tough. I'm really impressed. The only dissenting thought I get is, does it take away some from the stabilizing muscle work you get when doing them one-handed?
burkhardmacht
Those 2barbell DLs are great! Ever tried to max out on the OHDL? IMO You should do it - might be interesting!
lifesnotfair
Impressive as hell!!! 550 total, and having to stabilize it like that, wow. What can you do on a Trap Bar DeadLift?? Was your grip the limiting factor, or your body?
maidenfan
Its not as hard as it looks and easier than a regular DL and similar to a trap bar lift (a little more leverage back a forth though) - the grip for some might be a factor. That was pretty close to my max for both the grip and back - maybe a few more lbs. There are a few guys on this board that could pull some serious weight that way. Doing some farmers walks with the oly bars would be a cool grip workout.
