Roark
Recently measured the Harry Schaffron dumbell in the York Barbell Hall of Fame. Handle diameter is 2.42, and handle circumference is 7.62 (7-5/8). The interesting measurement is the handle width of only 3.75 inches, so that my hand width of 4 inches would not comfortably fit around it. The 1600 lb (empty) Travis dumbell has a center circumference of 25.75 which is 8.2 inches diameter. The Cyr dumbell in the Hall has a handle diameter of 1.51. By the way, the Travis bell circumference of 25.75 inches is the exact cold measurement of Manfred Hoeberl's upper arm when I measured it years ago at the Arnold Classic. Another note: when I measured the original Inch dumbell in May 2001 the handle circumference was 7.5 inches; the replica I measured was 7.75.
