POLE ROLLING

A friend of mine does Wing Chun and various other martial arts.  In there class, in order to work there forearms and grip they do something called pole rolling.  it is a similar movement to a wrist roller only you are using someone elses hands as resistance.

I figured this can be used to add variety to a workout or at best be a good laugh to add some competition to your routine every now and again

Heres how its done.  Assuming that you are only strong enough to resist one person.  You and your partner stand opposite each other in a formation like this;

X               <--- Trainer

---------       <--- Pole

        Y       <--- Trainer

Both of you take the pole in your hands and put your hands out in front of you.  The same movements apply as with wrist rolling as in order to work the different sides of the forearms.  X grips the pole as tightly as he can while Y trys to role the pole up.  The friction that X produces is the resistance that Y gets.  In order to up the resistance just add X's.

Apparently is is really hard, but can be used to add some friendly competition to your training.  Anyone tryed this?
