Tou Posted November 16, 2001 Share Posted November 16, 2001 Tonight, I got my first try at a vertical lift. My gym got a 24'' piece of steel that has a stop at the hand. They use it as a plate rack ! The diameter of the bar is the same as an olympic barbell end (close to 2 inches). I first tried 100 lbs : way too easy. Loaded the bar to 200 lbs : can lift more. On my third attempt, I fully lifted 255 lbs. What surprises me the most is that I did it after heavy farmer's walk and pinch grip. I have been succesfull with both hands. I'm going to add this lift to my grip routine. Shooting for 300 lbs. I don't do good on the grippers these days but this lift makes me happy.
