Grip Advice

I have two metal brackets with 8 lag screws on each bone in my right forearm.  I have had trouble with pain on an everyday basis for years. My question to you all is this:  How can I minimize the pain in my arm and hand during and after grip workouts? I hit many facets of hand training in one workout.  For example, on any given day I may do severe negatives(I do these on all grip days) and softball lift/rope pullup combos on the days I don't work the rest of my body. I train grip on average 3 times per week.  I also chisel stone just about every day(this is my sculpture art).  Could I actually be training too hard and too many times per week?   Your advice is much appreciated.

From what you just described, I'd say you're working your hands too much.  What exactly happened to your forearm?  Your probably putting too much stress on the bone itself.  Have you seen a doctor about this?  And if so, what did he say?

I think you should cut back on your grip training.  Notice I said, "cut back", NOT "cut off".  Three times a week is too much.  Combine that with your sculpture artwork.... and it's just too much.

Where are you right now when it comes to your grip training?  What gripper can you close?

I would go so far as to say take a week off of grip training - just to give yourself a break.  Then two times a week.

Hope this helps ya!  :)
