Gripper History

Here is an ad for an Ivanko type gripper from the August 1941 issue of Strength and Health Magazine.  I thought it was interesting that it had more notches than the Ivanko, which I thought had plenty.  It also doesn't seem to have the stop to hold the movable lever.  Anyone ever see one of these before?

I've also upgraded my site (Bigsteel) to be able to do this type of remote picture posting and to remove those pesky ad banners, enjoy.

Tom, good find. Looking in the U.S. patent office at the Ivanko type gripper, we find that Daniel Marvosh filed for a patent on Aug.15, 1961. Quite a few years later. No I haven't seen one before, but if anyone has one they want to sell then please get in touch with me.
