Spring tension loss

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering if the spring tension of a gripper loosens significantly over time, thus making the grippers easier? If the loss of tension is actually signicant, how long do you think this would take to occur? If the tension was decreased by heavy usage and/or holds, wouldn't this give an advantage to someone if they were to use their own #3 when getting certified, rather than using a new one?

Your thoughts would be appriciated!

                        Thanx,

                         Zack
