A Rose By Any Other Name

By this time next year (and I asked Miss Cleo about

this) there will be very little talk of #1, #2 etc. There

will be acknowledgement as Wannagrip indicated in

another post of 300 ip or 400 ip etc. After all, if you

close a gripper which measures 400 inch pounds, does

it really matter if it is a #3 or #4 ? What if the 400 ip

gripper you closed happened to be a #2 by some fluke?

Are you going to tell people you closed a #2, or will you mention the 400 ip ?

that's about how hard my #2 seems like... all this talk of guys closing their 2's out of the bag and doing 10 reps i thought i was behind because it took me quite a few months to close my 2. but after borrowing a freind's #2 and repping it (feels like a 1.5 to me) i don't feel so bad.. my 2 is probably not 400ip but is much tougher than my master and not much easier than my 3... go figure...

AP,

Tell me about your #2.  When did you get it, and was it from IronMind?  todd xxxx sent me his gripper, and I sent it back to him after evaluating it (very interesting).  Please fill me in on the details!  :)

I bought it about a year ago from im and it took me maybe 5 months to close it (with some layoff's in between). i was able to grind the handles once and have gotten some singles with it. the handles are 77-80mm apart (way wide!) even wider than my master. what is surprising is that all of the im grippers i bought btw late 99 and early 2000 (t, 1 and #2) are extremly wide like this and difficult...for comparison (i know you don't like reps but hey) i can do about 6 consecutive reps with my master, and got my #3 to about 1/2" on my first try with it. this is about equal to 1 rep on my 2...

my friends #1 and #2 are both narrow and easy compared to my grippers.. how does todd x's compare to mine?
