That I have mashed the #2 right out of the package cold. The #3 seems like a million miles away, however... but I am sure that will change.

I didn't expect to close the #2 as soon as I got it... so I am pretty happy with that.

Nice job man. Same here. If you're shutting the 2 out of the package, you'll be certified in a couple months as long as you train hard.

That's a rare occurrence. Congratulations!

Didn't think I would get such a response. Thanks everyone! I was driving home from work, knowing my IM shipment would be on the doorstep... so, while driving home, I did a no set close of the trainer, then the #1... they both felt dissappointingly light... and I said to myself "The #2 will be toast". When I got home, I mushed it, and it felt like a tough #1... until I tried to rep it, then it felt like a #2 :blush

Today I repped the #2 for 2 reps, but it was so hard, I expected milk to come out from under my fingernails.

I will now get into the market of finding some in-betweens, like a bb master, or a master heavygrips... I unfortunately cannot afford the RB's at this time... although I would love to find a pair between the #2 and the #3 that have the bronze handle and black-chromium spring... I probably need to get a snatchpack as well, juggling all these grippers into work today was a real fun time, while trying to lug my jug of water and breakfast in at the same time.

Congrats...

Some guys are just made right (and strong) for grippers. Took me a few weeks of training to get my 2...Took it to xmas and my cousin who threw shot/hammer for the last 5 yrs for wichita state (6'1" 250#) did 2 no set singles right 1st try and 1mm from closing no set no warmup left. He said those are tough, next year we'll see if he can do a 3 after I do it! Inquired about their grip work, none. Just heavy cleans and squats with lots of throwing. Asked what weights he can do, 380 hang clean w/straps and a 540 deep squat...nice. You do anything grip specific beforehand? Or do you have unusually large hands? Again, nice work.

I do not have large hands... just big fat palms and short, stubby fingers. I am an amateur strongman competitor, and I try to lift some weights here and there... :whistel

I do much of my gym work on thick bars, and I do a heavy set of farmers at least once, sometimes twice per week. I almost closed a #2 about a year ago, but I didn't own one, and thought my gripper strength would get better if I did thickbar stuff... now I am finding my grip is becoming a limiting factor in my weight training, so I am kicking it into high gear. Now that I own a #3, closing it is gonna be a good goal for me.
