Like many of you on this board, I am fairly close to closing the #3 (5mm or so). I can't tell if I have plateaud yet, as I haven't been at it very long. Is it worth my while to get the BB Master? Or just keep trucking along at the #3?

If you think it will take you a while to close the #3 then get the Master.  From what I have heard, the BB Master is like a #1.8 COC.  This should be useful to train with to close the #3.

Russell, don't you mean it is like a #2.8 COC (mine seems more like a #2.5 COC, but they do seem to vary somewhat)?

If you aren't seeing any steady progress i would recommend getting the Master. I would say this because it would be most beneficial to excercise the closed hand position (overcrushing, timed holds, strap holds) with the hardest gripper you can close.

Get the BB Master.  It has DEFINITELY helped me bridge the gap between the #2 and the #3.  I can now close and hold the BBM -  so to me, the CoC #2 feels like a CoC #1.

Thanks for the advice guys. Tonight was a good night for me with the #3, and I got it down to about 3.5mm (I just touched the width of two car keys held together) so I'm hoping it will come soon. I think I'll get the master because it can't hurt my progress.
