Got it a lot closer than I expected.  Feels like it will be achievable eventually with more work.  I appreciate the support and encouragement!

Its the Motorhead.. Lemmy adds at least a few lbs to every grip lift. Louder the better.

Your hard work might have something to do with it too though.

You may be onto something!  I used to say that Slipknot added a few lbs to my deadlift...  :rock

Pinewood Derby is this Saturday so we worked on finishing touches yesterday.

Thankfully my kids are all happy with their cars.

We'll see if that still holds true on race day...🏎️🏁

Very cool. Brings back great memories of making Pinewood Derby cars with my Dad growing up.

That's awesome.  Hopefully I'm giving my kids great memories like that...

Baseline assessment today after walking a couple miles.  For context:

  • I haven't deadlifted regularly in two years
  • I've never used an axle bar.
  • And...I don't even own an actual axle bar. All I had was this hip thruster bar that doesn't take chalk.

Let's just say I have my work cut out for me. That's only 267lb all together.  😔

Hey, it's just more room to climb and more fun experiencing the progress. Get after it!

I'll post a video later this evening.  Just so happy that I had to jump on the forum right now.

50# Blob by Face (Next Gen) - Grip Feat Attempt 04-21-2023

Lifting half of York 100lb dumbbell by the face (i.e., wide side).

Left hand was fully successful.  Right hand made an effort but not feeling as strong today.

Musical Inspiration: "Wait and Bleed" by Slipknot from the album "Slipknot" released in June 1999.

Took a little longer to post because YT flagged AC/DC "Back in Black" for copyright.

Needed to redo and reload with a different band and song.

Great, confident lift, congrats!👍

Thanks @matek!  I went ahead and submitted this video to Jedd to ask for a vote for potentially adding my name to the feat list.  Fingers crossed enough people give me a pass...

Iron Grip 120 Block Weight +17.5lb of magnets (76.6lb total) - 04-21-2023

Trying to prepare my hands for heavier lifts.

Want to work my way up to every PlateMate and Bare Steel Equipment pin I own.  🤪

But...(a) I still have 4 x 1.5lb PlateMates to go and (b) I only broke the ground with my left hand today.

Musical Inspiration: "Rusty Cage" by Soundgarden from the album "Badmotorfinger" released in October 1991.
