Guest gripmaster316
You say "attempts" macronan, does this mean closes?
Sean Dockery
Some closes. Some not. Rather than spell out misses and closes, I just say attempts. This format wil help as I approach world class feats. I can continue to report my workouts without infringing upon rule #4.
austinslater
Macronan it looks like everything is climbing fast. I played with my 35 and 30 blobs tonight after the workout and they felt great. Im working on plate pinching right now but might have to add in the blobs after the narrow pinches. Keep at it! Austin

strongmitts
Yea, those are the easiest ones I've run across. Although, still no small feat to bend in my opinion.

odin
macronan, thanks for your advice about the 1 & 2 finger blob lifts. Do you think the blob cleans & blob farmers help a lot? I haven't tried either yet, the closest thing I do to farmers is the coin bag carry every few weeks. How far do you typically manage to walk before you drop the blobs? You have made phenomenal progress; it is really great that you are making attempts at lifting the 50 lb blob. I hope to get to that point sometime this year also, but that 47.5 is kicking my butt now. I need to get some arctic mittens myself. I like that you wear them whenever you get the urge. Sean Dockery
Odin, You are welcome to advice anytime! I don't promise good advice tho' I think the cleans and farmer's have helped tremendously. negatives with a blob are a great training tool as well. We'll see when I back off the volume immediately before the Arnold... Blockweights 50 5 attempts, 5 negatives 40 7 cleans (had trouble controlling on descent) 35 3 farmer's Grippers 5x5 #1 Extensor 3 sets
odin
Cleans with 40's! Wow, that is fantastic! Are those hexes or blob-shaped DBs? Either way, that is an accomplishment IMO. I will have to try some of those with my 25' blobs and see if my rotator cuffs object or not. I remember in another thread someone said that they thought deadlifting a 40 lb blob is about as had as closing the #3, I'm not sure I agree with that, but...I think cleans with 40's must be as rare if they are old-style Yorks. I wonder if anyone who has trained regularly with grippers but can't close the #3 has ever lifted the 50-pound Blob.
