Ive got a feeling you'll be rowing it.. I really like the volume you do. Once I  can do some of these feats and hit a certain level i'd like to build endurance with this stuff.

Odd Haugen lifting the inch 65times was so impressive to me.

Odd is  a beast. Usually takes me around 40 minutes to accumulate a 100 reps on the inch.

Today.

Struggling with colds and the like, typical winter. Work dependent the future will see me winter in the Canary Islands I think.

What's interesting is when I wasn't pushing huge numbers,  I never ever had a cold.

Ssb, beltless , eccentric focus

320kg/705lb x 1 lifetime PR

Deadlift,  beltless,  eccentric focus

305kg/675lb x 1

Ssb clean squats and hip thrusts to finish.

Grip.

55lb blob 20 singles

Inch 30 singles

Supersetted the above due to lack of time, and was done within ten minutes.

Grippers. These were later on

#3, clicks

L 2x40

R 2x50

A small note about the passing of Paul Savage. He was one of the first grip guys I trained with. I am going to close a number 4 in his honour.  He was always trying to push me to get back into them, and me being an all round grip guy, I never really bothered. It was only last week we were sharing advice on grip coaching and helping eachother with our business ventures. He was truly one of a kind. RIP brother 🙏

Fresh off Julia becoming the first woman to total 700kg in UK history last weekend,  a few more new enquiries about deadlift related grip coaching have been coming in.

Had online client Lee come train grip with me today. Ticked off a few of the "classic" feats including repping a #3 and 20kg by the hub.

He brought an HG350  along, we both closed it without much trouble.

Grippers- loads of volume and reps up to

Elitex5 , hg350 x 5, #3.5x2,1,miss

Basically the same with each hand.

Pinch block (slippery AF)

103kg for a PR with a narrow miss at 105.5kg, just come forward before lockout but grip never went/no slippage.

Showed off with Hubs, doing  rear delt flyes with them, etc.

Finished with some armwrestling lifts.

Also trained bodybuilding legs, bone on bone on my left knee is becoming more of an issue, especially noticeable on colder days.

Train legs before grip. Ideally squat. You'll PR.

Woke up to an invite to train AW with the Dubai lot. Footage on YouTube etc.

Fantastic opportunity for making "grip" bigger and for networking and coaching.

Did an unplanned session at Commando Temple ahead of my attempts at the Millennium dumbbell.

I'm not a fan of missing lifts so only took it band Deloaded. I'm circa 5kg off lifting it, as expected.

The jump from inch to MDB is bigger than #3 to #4. Can't put into words the spin on that thing. The extra size of it stops my larger hand from stopping the rotation by touching both bells, as per the inch. This thing is a legitimate  230lb 60mm axle single hand lift, plus the bell rotation thrown in for good measure.

Today's highlights (see Instagram post for videos tomorrow when I upload or stories tonight).

#3 closed each hand at same time.

2x25kg 2 reps , 20 total reps

Flask 55kg

25kg Hamptons by the hub

32.5kg total hub lift

Plus around 100 reps on the #3 there. As usual got sidetracked yapping and forgot to count exactly.

Didn't do any "lifting" today,  just grip. Body feeling a little tender so needed the rest day.

Got to see my first ever Inch (purchase in 2007, later sold to Rob Blair) , and lapped it easily.  It's gone to a fantastic home. It was cool to see it feature on Brian's YouTube channel.

Absolutely insane man. You'll definitely be the next person to lift the Millennium bell.

Going to attempt it on the 23rd. If I miss, it'll go next year. Thanks bro
