Sybersnott
John, I brought this subject up a while ago on the old GripBoard. You can pretty much forget about IronMind building the #5.... it's not gonna happen. First off, WHO besides Kinney OR Brookfield OR Sorin OR (fill in the name of your favorite grip master), is going to close it? And with Kinney's health problems as of late, he's out of the picture. I do wish someone WOULD build a gripper that NO ONE has closed yet - it would give us something to shoot for. Ah, wishful thinking!!! Guest InchDisciple
Sybersnott what is happening with your #3 certification ? Remember you said you had closed it ? Also were you not writing a book about # 3 closers . Will you include a chapter on yourself ?
Guest Russell Latterman
If you want a gripper that would be as tough as a #5, just buy a Super Elite with custom width handles that are 1/2 inch farther apart. You could even get a "5" stamped on the bottom of the gripper. Not only would it be harder to fit in your hand, but it would also take about 30% more force to fully close it. Bill Piche
That doesn't even make sense -- there is overlap now on the grippers (see the pDA results). Wait for PDA to put out calibrated grippers. Then, as 1stCOC did, everyone can put their money where their mouth is for REAL. Inch-lbs! The question is..who is gonna send in their grippers to get measured??? You bet I will be. Sybersnott
Is there a "per gripper" cost when sending your grippers in to PDA? I have a whole bunch of grippers waiting to be tested. As for the book, I'm still working on it. Strossen told me he wants to read it first to "approve" it, since I talk about the CoC grippers and about IronMind and Strossen. I guess he wants to make sure I'm not violating any trademarks or copyrights when it comes to him and his company (which is only fair). As for my certification, I was going to go in this past week, but had an unfortunate accident happen to my hand (my right hand), I got it slammed in a door (long story), and it's weakened a bit. Thank God I didn't break any fingers, but my strength is off. The X-rays didn't show any major damage, so it will be some time. I can still do some gripping, but not like before. I guess I'll have to heal first, then re-evaluate my grip training. Point is: I WILL CONQUER THAT COC #3! (Just later then sooner!).
